Job description
The Exterior discipline of the Engineering Department is responsible for the exterior design of newly built yachts. Paneling, railings, sliding door and sunshade systems, masts and ornamental elements are a small range of items thought up by the Exterior discipline. As an Engineer Exterior you will be involved in engineering, specifying, standardizing and producing these parts of a yacht. As an Engineer Exterior you are technically responsible for the exterior engineering part of a construction project from the sales phase to the start of production.
Your duties include:
- Generating deck layouts and view drawings using a Cad application , you will do this through architects drawings/visuals and construction drawings.
- Responsible for the timely execution of the work within your own discipline in accordance with the project planning and budget.
- Monitoring regulations, standards and quality requirements.
- Analyze and check drawings for various links in the process from engineering to production.
- You actively cooperate with the other disciplines within the Engineering department, the Project team and the Purchasing department.
Requirements

You have analytical thinking skills and a strong proactive attitude. You are able to look outside the box for solutions;
- A completed Intermediate level education in wood and furniture, supplemented with work experience at college level;
- Work well with CAD applications, in 2D and 3D;
- Professional knowledge of exterior design in yacht building;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English;
- Affinity with luxury yacht building and experience with detail engineering is an advantage;
- You are ambitious, decisive, quality-conscious, accurate and innovative: you look for solutions off the beaten track.
