Sr. Naval Architect

You know what you're talking about and are enthusiastic, perhaps you're even a typical 'boat geek'. In any case, you (like us) are happy with a well thought-out design and accurate drawings with an eye for detail. Furthermore, you have good communication skills, are an organizer and a team player.

As Sr. Naval Architect, you will work in an international and diverse team of professionals. You will be involved in projects from the concept or preliminary phase and support with technical drawings and/or designs. Your main focus will be on the design of ship structures, supporting calculations and/or creating engineering models for production information of the projects. Occasionally, you will also be involved in research & development projects.

Requirements

You have experience within the ship- or yacht building industry and with design and engineering processes. By nature, you possess leadership and the power of persuasion to convince not only your immediate project team colleagues, but also the rest of the organisation, subcontractors and co-makers. You are used to working on large projects with corresponding budgets. Delivering a project within time, budget and at high quality standards gives you energy. In addition, you bring the following:

• Education BSc./MSc. Shipbuilding or Maritime Engineering;
• Demonstrable ship design and engineering experience, preferably at an independent design agency;
• Knowledge of and experience with Autocad, Rhinoceros 3D, Microsoft Office Suite and Bentley / Maxsurf and Shipconstructor;
• Excellent command of English in word and writing, Dutch is a plus;
• Additional knowledge of the other disciplines that play a major role in shipbuilding and yacht design;
• Analyse needs in the process to meet client expectations.
• You are able to proactively generate actions that lead to project improvement
