Job description
For the Rotterdam and Northern Netherlands branch we are looking for an enthusiastic, communicative and experienced Project Manager (40 hours).The Project Manager is responsible for the progress, execution and financial results of his projects. This includes: coordinating and monitoring the progress of engineering activities, production and delivery planning on behalf of customers.
- Organize and execute a cargo ship project from delivery to completion;
- Establish, monitor and update project and detail production schedule in consultation with project coordinators and contractors to establish overall project plan;
- Consult regularly with the client and its employees on the progress of the project, this may be either in the Netherlands or Asia;
- Provide functional leadership to members of the project team to ensure effective and efficient working in accordance with quality standards, environmental and safety regulations;
- Providing technical, financial and process evaluation and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Maritime Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. In addition, you bring:
- 5-10 years of relevant experience preferably in similar positions within the shipbuilding industry;
- Willingness to travel regularly to shipyards in Asia;
- You enjoy working in a team, are effective in planning and organizing, willing to learn new skills and are results-oriented;
- Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages;
- Availability of 32-40 hours per week.

Our client delivers marine projects from divisions for various markets such as defense & security, yachting, public transport, offshore and dredging. The projects are Engineered to Order. This means that they are involved in the whole project, from the commercial phase, working out the strategy, to commissioning, delivery and warranty.
Within this division they supply cargo vessels that have been a commercial success for the past 2 years. The engineering and project management is mainly centrally managed at the headquarters in the Netherlands. The construction and outfitting of these cargo vessels takes place in Asia.
